Doyen had an outstanding 4 year old season finishing it as Timeform’s Horse of the Year with a rating of 132 and was assessed as having put up two of the best performances in Europe over 11/2 miles.
He won the Grade 2 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot by 6L. and in doing so broke the 12 furlong course record, which had stood for 21 years. He then went on to win the Group 1 King George & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at the same course by 3 lengths and he retired to stud as Europe’s fastest 12 furlong Group 1 Winner.

He won the German Derby in the fastest time since 1999 and broke the course record when winning the American St.Leger on turf at Arlington 2015.
He won 3 further Gr.3 races and was placed in 6 other Group races including two Gr. 1's and his career record of 4 wins and 6 places from 11 starts shows he was one of the most consistent horses in training.
Of his 11 starts, ten were in black type races. His trainer Peter Schiergen described him as "a top class racehorse with huge speed, acts on any ground and had a really good character."
